José Miguel Núñez is a Mexican screenwriter, producer, and one of Mexico’s most sought-after television writers. He’s been writing professionally since 2004 and has worked across comedy, horror, animation, drama, telenovelas, and pretty much everything in between. He’s written two International Emmy-winning series: El Vato, winner of Best Non-English U.S. Primetime Program in 2018, and La Reina del Sur: Season 2, also an International Emmy winner. He has been Head Writer and creator on projects including Netflix’s Rebelde and Cindy La Regia, ViX+’s Pinches Momias and Timbiriche: El Regreso, with credits spanning Código Implacable, 90 Minutos, and more. He is currently writing action films and co-created an upcoming medical drama for Amazon MGM Studios with Caro Rivera, executive-produced by Diego and Natalia Boneta through their production company, Three Amigos. He is also the co-founder of Gatopez, an independent Mexican production company dedicated to developing and producing original film and television content for Mexican and international audiences.
