A lot of work needs doing at Clover Farm, but the lads simply cannot afford it.

Sid and Vic have a big heavy minus in the bank, so they invite the manager for tea to try and come to some kind of settlement. But in order to get a good settlement, they try to get the bank manager drunk.

With Vic away in Wales, his brother David arrives to help Sid. That night, Fanny the cow gives birth.

The lads have gotten into a gambling debt with local farmer and big head Jack Barclay. It's double or quits: whoever can get the clearest milk from their cow. It's down to Fanny to save the day.

Vic thinks Sid has proposed to Hilary and pulls out all the stops to rescue his pal from a mother-in-law worse than death.

Sid and Vic agree to play cricket for the vicars eleven. Trouble is Freddie Trueman is on the over team, and Sid soon gets in his bad books.
