A depressed Rohan takes his dog Bakin for a walk. Dazed from the strong summer sunshine, he stumbles upon a mysterious cave inside a huge tree. Climbing inside, he ends up crouching with Bakin in his arms. After returning home, things feel a little odd. Curiously, there is a young woman under the blankets on his bed...

While Rohan is in a meeting with Kyoka, a fan of Rohan's manga "Pink Dark Boy" suddenly appears. Annoyed that the boy turned up unannounced at his work place, Rohan sends him away. However, the boy visits again, challenging Rohan to a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors. Wherever Rohan goes, the boy appears, insisting on more rounds of the game...

Rohan and Kyoka visit a new trattoria near Rohan's residence. They encounter Tonio Trussardi, an Italian chef whose dishes have the uncanny power to cure illnesses. Tonio tells Rohan about the legendary abalone, which is said to be a panacea. Tonio needs it for his sick fiancée, but the only way to get one is by poaching.
