Following a friend’s advice, Liang Dai Wen attends a stand-up comedy show. By day, Gu Yi works as an editor at a magazine; by night, she performs stand-up at Ounce. She confidently tells her friend Yu Du Le, who also works part-time at Ounce, that she will get the whole crowd laughing that evening. Unfortunately for her, seated right in the front row is Liang Dai Wen, who is incapable of laughing. No matter how hard Gu Yi tries, he just won't crack a smile.

Guan Xing Xin reluctantly takes the job her adoptive parents arranged for her at a magazine company. Zhang Jun Jie hadn’t expected such an “odd character” to show up, and Gu Yi feels even more disheartened.

Gu Yi wakes up in Ounce with no memory of Liang Dai Wen bringing her home. They run into each other by chance at the sports park, where Liang Dai Wen gets hit by a flying basketball yet still shows no expression at all.

Guan Xing Xin and Liang Dai Wen seek solace at Ounce. Gu Yi is surprised to see the two of them together, and Liang Dai Wen immediately explains that Guan Xing Xin is not his girlfriend.

Liang Dai Wen is having dinner with Gu Yi and asks him to recommend some good romantic dramas to learn from. Liang even puts on a fake smile for Gu Yi, and that's when Gu Yi realizes that Liang Dai Wen can't actually feel emotions at all.

Liang Dai Wen admits to Gu Yi that he has alexithymia and hopes Gu Yi won't hold any prejudice against him. Gu Yi encourages Liang Dai Wen to share his trauma.

Liang Dai Wen and Gu Yi talks about his condition. She asks him who he dreams about when he sleepwalks. Liang Dai Wen dreams of his mother, but he lies and says he doesn't dream about anyone.

Gu Yi tries to create a romantic atmosphere at home. But in the end, the aromatic candles light up the mess on the table. When Liang Dai Wen returns home and sees that, he knows that Gu Yi is worried about him. He decides to tell Gu Yi about his previous girlfriends.

In order to help Liang Dai Wen learn to smile, Gu Yi creates a schedule for him, guides him through exercises and plays music for him, but Liang Dai Wen remains unresponsive.

Liang Dai Wen reveals the reason he tends to speed when he's emotionally agitated. When he was little, he once witnessed his father speeding after taking a call at the airport. He was terrified at the time. To comfort him, Gu Yi invites him to look at the stars together.

Gu Yi boldly shares about her unrequited love on stage, and even her mother's past, how she loved and hated without holding back. As Liang Dai Wen, Xu Guan Rui, and Wang Mei Xia listen from the audience, each feeling a bitter, uncomfortable mix of emotions.

Gu Yi teaches Liang Dai Wen how to use metaphors to express emotions. In exchange, Liang Dai Wen asks Gu Yi not to go on a blind date, and Gu Yi agrees.

Gu Yi works overtime for the selection of chief editor for the sub-journal, and Liang Dai Wen lets her practice presentations with him. The next day, he gifts her a small wooden cat as encouragement.

Gu Yi realizes Liang Dai Wen has increased her performance pay in secret and even rushes back to play the role of a tree to make her happy. She can't help but ask Liang Dai Wen if he likes her.

Gu Yi secretly prepares a birthday surprise for Liang Dai Wen. But it triggers his traumatic memories.

Without Gu Yi by his side, Liang Dai Wen has been living a boring life. Meanwhile, Xu Guan Rui is taking good care of Gu Yi as Liang Dai Wen sees them.

Gu Yi and Liang Dai Wen make a date to celebrate her birthday at his house. She politely declines Xu Guan Rui's invitation. He questions why she won't choose a normal person with emotional response.

Liang Dai Wen requests Gu Yi to continue treating him, which leaves Xu Guan Rui quite upset. Gu Yi and Xu Guan Rui openly share their feelings, but she still can't let go of Liang Dai Wen.

To fulfill his promise, Liang Dai Wen decides to get guidance therapy in the United States and become a complete person before he finds Gu Yi again.

Guan Xing Xin tells Gu Yi the reason why Liang Dai Wen left—it turns out he returned to Dalian because his father suddenly fell seriously ill. Gu Yi feels both heartbroken and guilty.

Mei Xia travels all the way to Donghai to celebrate the Lunar New Year with Gu Yi, Guan Xing Xin, and Yu Du Le. At Gu Yi's invitation, Xu Guan Rui arrives laden with gifts to join them. Amid the lively atmosphere, Gu Yi finds herself thinking of Liang Dai Wen, and her mood tinged with melancholy.

Gu Yi announces that Ounce is about to shut down, leaving the audience and comedians like Yu Du Le in tears on stage…

Gu Yi goes to Long Play Planet again for work purposes. Xu Guan Rui confesses to her again romantically with a galaxy of stars. Gu Yi is deeply apologetic as she expresses her gratitude.

Guan Xing Xin clashes with her adoptive parents once again. Zhang Jun Jie and Gu Yi talk about their pasts, with Zhang Jun Jie sharing his thoughts on Liang Dai Wen and voicing his support for their relationship.

Gu Yi, Wang Mei Xia, and Liang Dai Wen return to their hometown, where the three share a joyful dinner together. Encouraged by Mei Xia's attitude of acceptance, Liang Dai Wen opens up about his stories of sleepwalking.

Mei Xia and Gu Yi return to Donghai. Yu Du Le tells Gu Yi that there might be a problem with his relationship with Guan Xing Xin...

Gu Yi wakes up in the middle of the night and finds Liang Dai Wen sleepwalking. Later, she dreams of a young Mei Xia performing on stage. Liang Dai Wen and Yu Du Le find Gu Yi at the abandoned Ounce, who is having a breakdown because of Mei Xia's illness.

Liang Dai Wen arrives at his father's house, and a flood of memories rushes back. The girlfriend his mother once envisioned for him happens to align perfectly with Gu Yi.

Xu Guan Rui gives his blessing to Gu Yi and Liang Dai Wen's relationship. He even goes on stage to sing Errenzhuan to make Gu Yi happy while confessing his feelings for Gu Yi.

Amid the warm atmosphere of a family gathering, Gu Yi thinks of Mei Xia and can't hold back her tears.

Gu Yi uses her own story with her family as the magazine's new topic. It resonates with many people

The plagiarism controversy resurfaces. Liang Dai Wen visits Zhang Qing Ya and expresses his sincere gratitude. His reputation crisis has been successfully resolved.

Liang Dai Wen invites Gu Yi back to his house again. Both of them begin their sweet life together.

Gu Yi is enjoying a tender moment with Liang Dai Wen when Zhang Jun Jie calls. On a whim, she invites him to Ounce to watch the performance.
